Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Home Based / Hybrid

As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical initiatives across our water and wastewater operational contracts, as well as our Technical Services contracts, which includes the creation of new contracts and innovative technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with formulating creative strategies to optimize treatment processes and assets, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while achieving operational excellence. Your extensive knowledge in water and wastewater treatment will be invaluable in supporting various teams within Veolia, including Operations, Business Development, Project Management, and Asset Management.

Your responsibilities;

  • Implementing technical projects within the water sector
  • Conducting process troubleshooting and validation, utilizing modeling tools and calculations to forecast performance and develop business cases
  • Applying knowledge of water and wastewater processes for option evaluation, process selection, and conceptual design
  • Analyzing and interpreting technical data to measure, monitor, and benchmark process performance
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of Process Engineers and Graduate Engineers
  • Leading or assisting in commissioning, operational start-up, and compliance investigation reporting
  • Designing and managing efficiency and compliance improvement projects
  • Creating, validating, and promoting new technical solutions, ensuring the best available technology (BAT) is utilized
  • Enhancing the skills of Veolia staff through training and documentation preparation
  • Providing technical governance across Veolia and collaborating with Operations and Business Development to ensure process performance obligations are clear and achievable
  • Contributing to strategic projects and interfacing with Veolia's Innovation and R&D teams
  • Supporting Business Development in client engagement and relationship building
  • Participating in new plant design and operating philosophy reviews
  • Developing Capex and Opex budgets, commissioning, and O&M plans
  • Conducting pre-contract audits and liaising with customer representatives regarding process and performance issues


Qualifications we seek;

  • A degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar)
  • Experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and operational performance support in water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • A collaborative team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality principles applicable to the water sector


Desirable attributes;

  • Experience in developing technical projects and solutions within the water sector
  • Familiarity with commercial bids and financial modeling
  • Membership in a relevant professional institution
  • Proven ability to build successful client relationships
  • Capability to identify technological solutions to support business growth
  • Experience in water design and operation
  • Knowledge of DSEAR, WIMES, P&IDs, and Regulatory Standards
