Job Title: MOT Workshop Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MOT Workshop Manager to join our team at AB Volvo. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our MOT testing process, managing customer expectations, and optimizing workshop productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Work In Progress (WIP), oversee the workshop team, and regularly manage customer expectations.
  • Proactively manage the GVS process from planning to invoice/claim closure.
  • Ensure service and repair work is completed to time and quality standards and all invoice/claim documents are complete and accurate.
  • Manage customer expectations, job profitability, and workshop productivity targets daily to ensure workshop profitability is optimized.
  • Carry out regular process reviews with your Dealerpoint Manager to identify operational issues/discrepancies and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken to rectify.
  • Manage the performance of the service department to ensure KPI targets are achieved.
  • Hold daily production meetings to plan workload and resources, review identified issues from previous shifts, and identify appropriate solutions consistent with standard OTI process requirements.
  • Anticipate production problems based on forward plan/resources and provide active support to handle workload.
  • Actively participate in the Dealerpoint's Commercial Crew CRM meetings following the CRM process.
  • Assist the Dealerpoint Manager in the production of the annual business plan.
Requirements:
  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of supervising in a commercial vehicle workshop.
  • Knowledgeable in VOSA requirements, MOT Testers manual, Warranty and Contract scope and procedures, workshop KPIs, and understand Operators License Laws and Regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work daily with spreadsheets and in-house IT systems to manage productive man hours and unsold man hours.
