Caretaker Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Caretaker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality caretaking and minor maintenance services within our building.

You will work as part of a team to ensure the premises and grounds are well-maintained and supported throughout the year. Your duties will include cleaning designated areas, removing graffiti, and replenishing consumables.

As a Caretaker, you will work a standard Monday to Friday schedule, with a 37.5-hour week. You will also be responsible for:

  • Supporting energy conservation measures
  • Monitoring energy usage and supplying meter readings
  • Checking the operation of the fire system on a regular basis
  • Carrying out monthly fire door checks
  • Noting and reporting repairs requirements through our helpdesk
  • Undertaking minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and strips, fuses, plugs, and unblocking drains
  • Moving furniture and equipment

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • To be able to undertake basic maintenance tasks, including plumbing, identifying leaks, and minor joinery tasks
  • Experience in a similar role would be preferable, although training will be given where appropriate
