About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive informed decision-making across our supply chain. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and utilise data to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse data from various sources to solve critical supply chain challenges
  • Support the ingestion and testing of new data sources and help create supply chain measures for the business
  • Use machine learning and statistical techniques to develop solutions that enable proactive decision-making
  • Produce clear dashboards and reports that offer insight into supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for non-technical stakeholders
  • Promote self-service data capabilities, automating processes to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency
Requirements
  • A degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred)
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • Strong background in data mining, wrangling, and open-source big-data technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure)
  • Experience with data warehouses and data lake structures / visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python (PySpark), R, and Scala is advantageous
  • Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical tests, distributions, and regression analysis
  • Knowledge of supply chain and merchandise planning processes would be a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
