About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our team at the Welsh Government. As a Senior Manager - Local Authority Inspection, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care services to the citizens of Wales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals to design and deliver a programme of local authority inspection, scrutiny, and reviews across Wales.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to integrated scrutiny, review, and inspection, ensuring the robust management of resources and alignment with agreed priorities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring the quality and timeliness of all aspects of local authority performance scrutiny, review, and inspection activity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including local authorities, health boards, and national bodies, to develop and maintain productive and effective working relationships.
  • Represent the Welsh Government at senior level, as required, and contribute to the strategic planning of the organization.
  • Take responsibility for own performance management and professional development, seeking opportunities for growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior management role, with a strong track record of leadership and team management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, be flexible, and adapt to changing environments.
  • Recognized social care or education qualification, or equivalent experience in a related field.
