About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water Environment team in our London office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading hydrological and hydraulic modelling projects, mentoring and developing junior consultants, and developing relationships with clients and regulators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hydrological and hydraulic modelling projects, including flood risk assessments and flood model development.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the role.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and regulators, ensuring excellent communication and liaison.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver projects, including design office work, site meetings, and progress reporting.
  • Contribute to business development, including bid preparation, fee proposals, and research of new clients.
  • Attend client and regulatory meetings, providing expert advice and guidance.
Requirements
  • Strong Bachelor's degree in a water-related subject, with a higher degree preferred.
  • Substantial experience in flood risk assessments, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and consultancy/industry experience as a senior modeler.
  • Good understanding of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities, as well as current planning policies and procedures.
  • High motivation for this opportunity, with a self-motivated and team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to work under own initiative and coordinate with line manager's requirements.
