We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Executive to join our team at Howden, a leading independent insurance broker. As a Claims Executive, you will play a critical role in the pro-active management of all claims from inception to resolution, ensuring a high level of professional advice is provided to clients at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Attend client premises to investigate large or complex losses and provide expert advice to facilitate satisfactory settlement and conclusion.
- Monitor and analyze claim trends to identify areas for improvement and discuss with Risk Management.
- Build and maintain close working relationships with senior-level partners, including insurers and loss adjusters.
- Maintain an open 'early warning' culture to identify and address potential issues and errors of omission.
- Ensure clear lines of communication throughout the team and share relevant information with the Claims Director and Account Executives.
- Interact with new business teams to secure new clients and promote our 'Excellence in Claims' offering.
- Stay up-to-date with new products and markets to provide expert advice to clients.
- Produce claims reports to ensure best policy presentation prior to renewals and attend client meetings as required.
- Working knowledge of all main classes of General Insurance and the CII's Code of Ethics and GDPR.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of cross-class products.
- Responsibility for own personal development and keeping knowledge up-to-date through e-learning, in-house courses, and professional qualifications.
- Good level of technical insurance skills, to be assessed by regular in-house testing.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Good negotiation and broking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding.
