Key Responsibilities- Supervise and inspect the quality of work delivered to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Carry out work safely and in accordance with safe systems of work procedures, method statements, and other instructions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, quality, and environmental management.
- Undertake specific inspections in accordance with standards as directed, and prioritize work arising to ensure efficient delivery.
- Prepare work and resource specifications, method statements, and Safe System of Work Plans to ensure safe and efficient delivery of work.
- Assist in the development of work plans that enable work to be delivered safely, efficiently, and compliant to standards.
- Assist in the identification and proposal of asset renewals, and assist in the allocation of resources to ensure efficient delivery of work.
- Deliver work in accordance with relevant maintenance plans, and provide appropriate information to update systems, databases, and records.
- Undertake a programme of staff surveillance, work quality, compliance, and asset condition checks as directed.
- Assist in the management, control, and discipline of staff as directed, and assist in the monitoring and review of staff competence and welfare.
- Contribute to your own development and that of others, and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Experience of directing and supervising worksites and the safe and efficient delivery of work.
- Knowledge of resource and work organisation/planning processes and systems.
- Knowledge and experience of track inspection, maintenance, renewal, and asset condition assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions.
- Awareness of cost and waste control techniques.
- Able to demonstrate, promote, and embed safe working behaviours within the team.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to coach, influence, and develop others.
- Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post and required by business need.
- Ideally hold (or be working towards) an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.
