We are seeking a skilled Resident Engineer to provide ongoing coverage at our customer site in Burton-on-Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing forklift trucks on site within a workshop environment.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a vehicle technician or mechanical engineer with experience working as a forklift technician, plant fitter, plant technician, vehicle technician, or a similar type of role. You will work with a range of equipment, including small pallet trucks, IC trucks, VNA trucks, and automated trucks, to find, diagnose, and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, service, and repair forklift trucks on site within a workshop environment
  • Work with a range of equipment, including small pallet trucks, IC trucks, VNA trucks, and automated trucks
  • Find, diagnose, and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues and customers to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements:
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or hydraulics
  • NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification (desirable)
  • IT literacy and ability to use latest technology to keep accurate records and place orders
  • Full UK driving license
  • Good communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a positive attitude
