Heathland House is a beautifully designed 66-bed residential and dementia care facility located in Ferndown, Dorset.
We are seeking adaptable Culinary Support Assistants to join our Catering team on a flexible basis to cover for staff absences. Schedules will be provided in advance, allowing you to plan your availability. If you have a passion for food service, we offer opportunities for further training and professional development.
The Culinary Support Assistant plays a vital role in all food service operations within the Cinnamon home. Working closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen personnel, you will help ensure that all culinary services run smoothly and that health and safety standards are consistently met. Your duties will include food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef, Chef, and other kitchen staff in delivering all food services throughout the facility, ensuring resident preferences are prioritized.
- Prepare nutritious meals and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef, in accordance with scheduled meal times.
- Uphold exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and food storage areas, adhering to relevant food safety regulations.
- Prepare meals for special dietary needs as required and as instructed by the Head Chef.
- Provide constructive feedback to the Head Chef and Chef regarding any concerns raised by residents about the catering services. Address issues promptly when possible and report them to the Head Chef or Chef in their absence.
- Support effective inventory management practices to minimize waste and ensure proper stock control.
Person Specification
- Physically and medically capable of performing duties with or without assistive devices.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively while working under pressure.
- Enthusiastic, dedicated, and proactive approach to work.
- Familiarity with COSHH and CQC regulations.
