Job Overview:

The Store Person will play a crucial role in ensuring that all inventory is processed accurately, stored securely, and picked accurately and timeously. This involves coordinating and improving the various tactical day-to-day receiving, stock location accuracy, and allocations, as well as assisting and guiding other internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Inventory Control: Receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring that they meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, locations, and quantities, using ERP and WMS systems.
  • Picking and Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that customers receive their products on time.
  • Query Resolution: Resolve queries regarding inventory shortages, discrepancies, and other issues.
  • Housekeeping and Security: Maintain a clean and secure store environment, ensuring that stock is properly stored and identified.
  • Support and Liaison: Provide support to Procurement and Purchasing teams with demand forecasting and replenishment disciplines, and liaise with Operations, Sales, and Project teams to align store activities with business and customer needs.
  • Other Duties: Perform other operational and administrative duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in similar roles, showcasing an ability to adapt and thrive in an engineering environment.
  • Inventory Control: Sound understanding of inventory control processes, integrity, good practice, and storekeeping disciplines.
  • Technical Knowledge: Read and extract materials from drawings, BOQ's/BOM's, and have technical knowledge of stock control and demand planning.
  • ERP and WMS Systems: Proficient in using ERP and WMS systems, including MS Office.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well under pressure, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a customer-oriented attitude.

Nice to Have:

  • Manufacturing or Engineering Experience: Experience working in manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Hardware/Ironmongery Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the hardware/ironmongery industry.

Personal Attributes:

  • System-Oriented: Ability to ensure that ERP data matches physical inventory, quantity, and location.
  • Precision: Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to find creative solutions to resolve discrepancies and issues.
