We are seeking a dedicated Category Manager to oversee a critical segment of our procurement operations. This role is integral to our mission at Foodbuy, a premier food procurement organization in the UK.

About Foodbuy:
With a managed spend exceeding £2 billion, we collaborate with a diverse array of foodservice and hospitality clients globally, facilitating their procurement needs for food and related products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the complete procurement lifecycle for your designated category.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy for Beers, Wines, and Spirits, focusing on maximizing value and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of brands and client requirements, essential for driving growth within Foodbuy.
  • Enhance procurement processes and improve engagement with operational stakeholders, ensuring a balance between cost savings, quality, and service.
Essential Duties:
  • Lead the end-to-end procurement initiatives across all projects associated with Compass and Foodbuy Group.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to formulate strategies for new contracts, ensuring optimal commercial value.
  • Understand and contribute to the overall savings goals of the Foodbuy Group within your category.
  • Support the RFX sourcing framework, driving competition through effective tendering, negotiations, and eAuctions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to effectively implement category procurement strategies.
  • Work closely with Commercial Directors and clients to execute transformation projects.
  • Promote innovation and sustainability initiatives for our clients.
  • Develop and deliver category plans through innovative partnerships.
  • Minimize costs through effective tool and process utilization.
  • Track and report on savings performance consistently.
  • Communicate the value of procurement to the broader business.
