Vineyard Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vineyard Worker to join our team at Agricultural and Farming Jobs. As a key member of our vineyard team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our vineyard, including pruning, management of vines, spray applications, trellis maintenance, and ground management.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure all work is carried out as per Supervisor or Management instruction and provide training and guidance to other members of the team.
- Prune and manage vines, including leaf trimming, shoot thinning, and yield manipulation.
- Conduct spray applications and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain trellises and perform vineyard establishment as required.
- Manage ground conditions, including weed control, mowing, and soil cultivation.
- Maintain machinery and perform site maintenance.
- Supervise agency staff and maintain a professional and approachable attitude.
- Assist with record keeping and provide updates to the Vineyard Manager/Viticulturist as required.
- Provide cover for the Vineyard Supervisor during periods of holiday, sickness, and act in their absence.
- Ensure staff are following correct procedures and offer guidance/training when lacking.
- Report to the Vineyard Supervisor any issues that may affect the smooth running of the vineyard.
- Constantly strive for improvements in quality, efficiency, cost, and professionalism.
- Provide ongoing training and assistance to all team members across various vineyard sites as requested.
- An interest in viticulture and vine husbandry.
- Excited about learning about UK vineyards and the growing industry we are a part of.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and committed.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A confident driver.
- Hold PA1 & PA3 and/or telehandler qualifications - desirable.
- Good communication skills.
- Good levels of English literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to follow directions and work orders.
- Possess a clean and valid driving license and have unrestricted access to a vehicle during the working week.
- Willingness to supervise and work alongside Agency staff.
