Job Title: Residential Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Brook Street Social Care. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with various needs, including behavioural support, mental health, non-verbal communication, and learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care and support to service users, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  • Support clients in daily activities, such as meal preparation, medication management, and household chores.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, and other professionals, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of care provided, adhering to regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature, with a commitment to promoting dignity and respect.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of service users.
  • Basic IT skills, including touchscreen devices and computers, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, with a commitment to safe and responsible driving practices.
  • Up-to-date medication, moving, and manual handling training, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Enhanced Adult and Child workforce DBS (update service), with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
