About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at the Met Office. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project scope, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Lead and manage project teams, including project managers, team members, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage project resources, including budget, personnel, and equipment
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and customers
  • Ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with the Met Office's project management methodology and standards
Requirements
  • APM (Association for Project Management) PMQ Certificate or equivalent project management certification
  • Proven experience in project management, including experience in leading and managing projects from initiation to delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including the ability to lead and manage project teams
  • Strong business acumen, including knowledge of business operations and processes
