Finance Officer – Temporary

The Finance Officer is a crucial member of the finance team, responsible for all invoicing and chasing payments. As the primary finance point of contact for clients and staff, the postholder will provide exceptional customer service and support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head of Finance in preparing monthly management accounts and schedules for the annual statutory audit;
  2. Liaise with statutory auditors to provide necessary information and support;
  3. Prepare and distribute monthly budget reports for budget holders;
  4. Administer and maintain the billing ledger;
  5. Post fees and extra charges, prepare and produce invoices, and update billing ledger account profiles;
  6. Reconcile information to ensure the accuracy of the billing process;
  7. Issue bills and ensure timely payment receipt;
  8. Provide the COO with weekly reports on outstanding payments and lead the collection of outstanding money;
  9. Investigate and respond to queries in a timely manner;
  10. Primary point of contact for new credit requests;
  11. Maintain the deposit spreadsheet and reconcile iSAMS and iFinance deposit figures;
  12. Reconcile balance sheet control accounts, including debtors and creditors ledgers, parental deposits, House charity collections, and payroll/tax balances;
  13. Prepare quarterly VAT returns;
  14. Monthly reconciliation of investment income, card machine takings, and direct debit donation income;
  15. Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register;
  16. Ensure compliance with anti-bribery and corruption legislation, money laundering regulations, and associated KYC and sanctions lists;

Requirements:

  1. Qualified by experience or an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  2. High-level knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Management Information Systems.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Experience in a similar role.
