About the Project
As part of a cutting-edge, 3.2-gigawatt power station project, you will contribute to the delivery of low-carbon electricity, benefiting millions of households and shaping the future of energy for decades to come.
Role Overview
In your capacity as Carbon Manager, you will oversee the management and execution of carbon reduction commitments. Reporting to the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead, you will play a crucial role in formulating carbon reduction strategies, business cases, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Alliance ESG Strategic Operations Lead to fulfill carbon commitments and devise strategic plans.
- Develop carbon routemap plans and strategies to achieve established targets.
- Assist in creating carbon management resources and documentation templates.
- Design and implement carbon training programs to enhance team capabilities.
- Integrate and support carbon management across various project functions, including procurement and logistics.
- Supervise project client carbon reporting, ensuring accuracy in baselines, forecasts, and progress updates.
- Provide expert guidance on carbon assessment and impact mitigation strategies for project teams.
- Advocate for low carbon innovations within the supply chain.
- Manage the development and execution of low carbon enhancements and incentive business cases.
- Collaborate with technical teams to identify low carbon solutions for materials such as fuel, asphalt, concrete, and steel.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Carbon Management, Energy, or a related discipline.
- Comprehensive understanding of carbon impact and mitigation strategies in large infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) reporting methodologies.
- Knowledge of carbon reporting standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in Office applications and analytical tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Desirable:
- A Master's degree in Sustainability, Carbon Management, Energy, or a related field.
- Membership in a relevant professional organization.
- Experience in collaborative project environments to achieve optimal results.
