About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and hard-working Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior HCSW, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in providing essential nursing care for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care while maintaining patient privacy and dignity
  • Work alongside registered nurses to provide nursing care for patients
  • Assist patients with daily living tasks, including hygiene and continence care, and nutrition
  • Help with mobility needs and provide pressure area care
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families
  • Conduct one-to-one observations for patients who present a high risk due to clinical condition
  • Ensure the ward environment is clean and safe, preventing infection and falls
  • Take and record patients' vital signs and identify and escalate changes to a patient's condition to the registered nurse
  • Train and support new and junior team members, including student nurses
