About the Role

NHS National Services Scotland is committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services to all individuals, particularly those who are vulnerable and in need of specialized support. As a Children and Young People's Nurse, you will play a vital role in identifying, assessing, and planning for the health needs of care experienced children and young people.

This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding care experienced children and young people, including those living in residential units, foster care, or with kinship carers. You will work closely with local authorities, education, foster carers, key workers, and voluntary agencies to provide supportive educational and healthcare services.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to research activities, ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area. Your expertise will help shape the delivery of healthcare services, ensuring that care experienced children and young people receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess the health needs of care experienced children and young people
  • Develop and implement healthcare plans to meet the needs of this vulnerable population
  • Collaborate with local authorities, education, and other stakeholders to provide supportive educational and healthcare services
  • Contribute to research activities, ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area
