Job Overview

GAP Group LTD is seeking a skilled Lifting Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a Lifting Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of lifting and working at height equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment to ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Perform function testing and proof load testing of equipment, including runway beams, davit sockets, swing jibs, and lift shaft eyes.
  • Repair and maintain lifting equipment, including basic installations.
  • Produce detailed reports and certification for equipment, including failed items.
  • Carry out site surveys and provide customers with expert advice on the selection and use of lifting equipment.
  • Support the lifting depot network by maintaining the hire fleet, upskilling team members, and providing bespoke solutions to lifting-based queries.
Requirements
  • Essential experience working as a Lifting Engineer/Fitter.
  • Competent in the inspection of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER and PUWER.
  • LEEA qualifications are highly desirable, including advanced programs such as Runways & Crane Structures and/or Overhead Travelling Cranes.
  • Ability to work independently and assist other team members when required.
  • A customer-focused approach to workload and strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driving license is essential.
