We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Intensive Care Specialist to join our team at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to children in our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high-quality and responsive delivery of patient care to patients in PICU.
- Participate fully in all aspects of the service, including clinical and administrative tasks, appropriate to the grade and experience of the postholder.
- Manage PICU patients under the supervision of the Chief PICU Fellow and Consultant on Duty.
- Take part in a full-shift rota, including being resident when on the night shift.
- Undertake teaching and guideline development within the fixed rota.
- Participate in the Paediatric Retrieval rota, initially in a supernumerary role.
- Gain airway and access skills experience in theatres.
- Participate in the training of Retrieval Nurse Practitioners.
- Undertake a P.A.L.S or A.P.L.S Course if not already done so.
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust is a leading centre for paediatric intensive care in the UK. We provide a high-quality service to children from across the South Thames region, with a mixed intake unit admitting cardiac and general intensive care patients. Our unit is accredited to undertake both Year 1 and Year 2 PICM training.
Main Place of EmploymentThe post will be based at the Evelina Children's Hospital, but it is a requirement of the role that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the trust, either on an ongoing or temporary basis according to the demands of the service.
