Job Title: Senior Cost Manager - Real Estate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager to join our Real Estate team in Cambridge. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for managing the cost management process, including conducting feasibility studies, writing procurement reports, and managing estimating and cost planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports to ensure accurate and timely delivery of projects.
  • Apply Value Management techniques to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure effective project delivery.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages are performed effectively, including pre-qualification, inquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
  • Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
  • Ensure that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
  • Value engineer and life cycle cost to ensure optimal project delivery.
  • Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Take a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Where appropriate, lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in one of the following fields: construction, cost management, or Quantity surveying.
  • MRICS qualification is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
