Job Title: Senior Cost Manager and Cost Consultant
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager and Cost Consultant to join our Real Estate team in Cambridge. As a Senior Cost Manager and Cost Consultant, you will be responsible for managing estimating and cost planning activities, conducting feasibility studies, and applying Value Management techniques to ensure the delivery of high-quality cost management services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
- Apply Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and involve Turner & Townsend's specialist Value Management team where appropriate.
- Manage the procurement process, ensuring that all stages, including pre-qualification, inquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation, are performed effectively.
- Ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively.
- Ensure that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client.
- Value engineer and life cycle cost.
- Ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Take a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
- Lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in one of the following fields: construction, cost management, or Quantity surveying.
- MRICS qualification.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
