The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and testing our air-breathing ion propulsion system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and test electric propulsion systems, including RF Thrusters, Hall Effect Thrusters, and Gridded Ion Propulsion
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to ensure flawless operation of the ion propulsion system
  • Develop and implement test plans, assemble test hardware and electronics, and operate vacuum facilities
  • Analyze test data, prepare reports, and effectively communicate results
  • Modify designs by preparing CAD and drawings
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of spacecraft Electric propulsion systems
  • Previous practical experience in electric propulsion testing, ideally involving RF generators, high voltage power supplies, and thrust balance
  • Experience working with vacuum systems, power supplies, fluidic management systems, and data acquisition systems
  • Good technical understanding of plasma physics, modeling, and diagnostics, ionization processes, and basic electrical engineering
  • Skills in CAD modeling, electronics, planning of experiments, and laboratory automation software
  • Experience in the aerospace industry is preferable
