Job Title: Children's Team Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Team Leader to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Quality Governance Lead in implementing the quality governance and patient safety framework across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality Governance Lead in the development and implementation of the Quality Governance Framework, including patient safety across the Trust.
  • Operate across the Trust to provide specialist advice, support, and training to all levels of staff on matters associated with quality governance and patient safety.
  • Ensure effective systems are in place to identify, report, analyse, and support the management of incidents and mortality, fostering a just culture where staff feel supported and willing to report incidents and near misses.
  • Coordinate the management of incident reports, maintain Datix, and support with learning from death reviews.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Nursing, Quality Governance in fulfilling the Trust's obligation on reporting of incidents.
  • Support the Director of Midwifery and Quality Governance team in the management and integration of quality governance and patient safety within the everyday business of the Trust.
  • Provide support for Quality Governance Advisors and Facilitators.
  • Actively support clinical teams and corporate services in learning from incidents, deaths, and complaints.
  • Take the lead in Serious Incident investigations in accordance with policy.
  • Provide reports to committees and managers as required.
  • Provide cover in the absence of the Risk Manager for Children's services.
