Audit and Accounts Senior Accountant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit and Accounts Senior Accountant to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a leading recruitment agency for accountancy professionals, we are committed to finding the best talent for our clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing statutory and financial statements, supporting the senior team with audit preparation, and preparing tax returns and assessments for various organisational structures. They will also assist with VAT returns, rental accounts, bookkeeping, and managing workflow to ensure client work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of statutory and financial statements
  • Supporting the senior team with audit preparation
  • Preparation of tax returns and assessments for various organisational structures
  • Assistance with VAT returns, rental accounts, bookkeeping, and workflow management
  • Supervision of junior team members, offering coaching and mentoring
  • Liaison with HMRC on client matters
  • Liaison with clients, attending meetings, and addressing queries
  • Support with general accountancy services and business advice
  • Collaboration with senior team members
  • Promotion of customer service excellence
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects as required

Requirements
  • AAT/ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Experience of audit
  • Good basic knowledge across accountancy services and experience of working in UK practice
  • A can-do attitude to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage deadlines and workflow
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Personable and friendly
