Job Title: Multi Utility Team Member

We are seeking a skilled Multi Utility Team Member to join our team at Utility People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safely building and maintaining the multi utility network infrastructure to provide a reliable supply of gas, water, and electric to various properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of Gas & Water Mains/Services: Utilize various techniques such as open cut and directional drilling to install gas and water mains/services up to and including 355mm.
  • Working in Deep Excavations and Confined Spaces: Work safely in deep excavations and confined spaces to complete tasks.
  • Connecting New Mains Gas, Water & Electric: Connect new mains gas, water, and electric cables to the existing network infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Installing LV & HV Electric Mains: Install LV and HV electric mains via hand lay or winch.
  • Proficient in Squeeze Off and Electrofusion Pipe Jointing Techniques: Use squeeze off and electrofusion pipe jointing techniques to connect services to gas and water mains.
  • Installation of Gas Meter Housings: Install a wide range of gas meter housings.
  • Ability to Reposition Electrical Equipotential Bonding Apparatus: Reposition electrical equipotential bonding apparatus when removing a meter.
  • Competence in Butt/Electro Fusion Jointing of Gas & Water Mains: Competently joint gas and water mains using butt/electro fusion techniques.
  • Assisting in Insertion of Flow Stopping Equipment: Assist in inserting flow stopping equipment to facilitate work on pressurized mains.
Requirements:
  • GNO1, GNO(W) Services & Mains Qualification: Possess a GNO1, GNO(W) Services & Mains Qualification.
  • Experience in Deep Excavations and Confined Spaces: Have experience working in deep excavations and confined spaces.
  • Installation of Gas & Water Mains/Services: Have experience in installing gas and water mains/services up to and including 355mm.
  • Adaptable and Level-Headed Individual: Be an adaptable and level-headed individual who can work well in changing environments.
  • Logical Thinker: Be a logical thinker who can find solutions to problems with ease.
  • Confident Communicator: Be a confident communicator who works well as part of a team.
  • Process Driven and Hard Working: Be process driven and hard working.
  • SHEA Gas, Water, Power: Have expertise in SHEA gas, water, and power.
  • Understanding of Relevant Legislation, Safety Protocols & Environmental Protection Measures: Have an understanding of relevant legislation, safety protocols, and environmental protection measures.
