Multi Utility Team Leader Job Description

Utility People is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi Utility Team Leader to join our team. As a Senior GNO2 Service Layer, you will be responsible for leading a team of service layers and ensuring the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of gas, water, and electric networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of service layers in the installation and maintenance of gas, water, and electric networks.
  • Undertake and document risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage and maintain all paperwork, certifications, and H&S requirements for the team.
  • Install gas and water mains/services up to and including 355mm, utilizing various techniques such as open cut and directional drilling.
  • Work in deep excavations and confined spaces, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Connect new mains gas, water, and electric (cables) to the existing network infrastructure.
  • Proficient in installing LV and HV Electric Mains via Hand Lay or Winch.
  • Proficient in squeeze off and electrofusion pipe jointing techniques.
  • Connection of services to gas and water mains using diverse methods.
  • Installation of a wide range of gas meter housings.
  • Ability to reposition electrical equipotential bonding apparatus when removing a meter.
  • Assisting in the insertion of flow stopping equipment to facilitate work on pressurized mains.

Requirements:

  • Possess a GNO2, GNO1, GNO(W) Services & Mains Qualification - Essential.
  • SCO Core, Form of Authority, Check AE/CP with Network Controller, Routine Operations (SCO1, 2, 4 & 5).
  • Leadership experience - Process driven and hard working.
  • Experience in the installation of gas and water mains/services up to and including 355mm.
  • An adaptable and level-headed individual who can work well in changing environments.
  • A logical thinker who can find solutions to problems with ease.
  • A confident communicator who works well as part of a team.
  • SHEA Gas, Water, Power.
  • Expertise in decommissioning services and gas meters.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, safety protocols, and environmental protection measures.
