Fabrication Operations Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of resources within the fabrication operation, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and control health & safety within the fabrication operation and surrounding areas.
  2. Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by maintaining housekeeping control.
  3. Complete daily plant checklists to ensure compliance with company standards.

Quality Assurance:

  1. Report all non-conformances produced within the fabrication operation.
  2. Ensure the proper use of measuring equipment in accordance with the company quality system.
  3. Inspect individual items prior to despatch to ensure quality standards are met.
  4. Control third-party requirements for inspection (MPI / UT, etc.).

Manufacturing and Production:

  1. Work with the Director & Operations Director to set the weekly production plan, ensuring efficient operation of resources.
  2. Provide assistance to the workforce to minimize lost time and maintain high productivity levels.
  3. Perform contract reviews with sales/technical and work closely with them for the overall good of the department.
  4. Tour the fabrication operation regularly to supervise quality, productivity, and health & safety.
  5. Track job performance against estimated hours and take corrective action where necessary.
  6. Communicate effectively with the workforce, informing them of loading, overtime requirements, etc.
  7. Practice good time management and control own overtime to the financial benefit of the business.
