Polar Systems is one of Norfolk’s largest engineering firms which handles large and small projects nationally and internationally. Producing in-house a wide variety of food processing machinery in Stainless Steel.

With the desire to meet a growing customer need and ensure we meet the highest possible standards for our customers, we are seeking experienced Fabricators to join our well-equipped and modern company.

Working as a member of the Fabrication and site team you will be fabricating our specialist processing equipment in the workshop, you may also be part of site installations, working with automated machinery, improving production facilities, improving overall reliability and safety of plant in the UK and internationally and supporting a growing Subcontract market.

The role would involve supporting the site team with our project installations when needed. Fabricating small
- and large-scale machinery in the workshop from detailed technical drawings.

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various mechanical systems from technical drawings supplied. The fabricator’s responsibilities include keeping accurate records of all work done, repairing malfunctioning mechanical systems, and repairing or adapting fabricated components using the equipment required. You will also collaborate with other fabricators on large-scale projects.

You need to be detail-oriented, focused, and adept at interpreting drawings, demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

**DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions.
- Taking part in planning, product, and development meetings.
- Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
- Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present.
- Ensure that all welding procedures are followed as required.
- Maintain equipment and ensure that all tools are kept to the highest of standards.
- Maintain high quality welding through constant monitoring and inspection.
- Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and assembled.
- Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
- Work to the installation schedule.
- Testing products for their functionality.
- Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls.
- Reporting and detailing product malfunctions.
- Adhering to assembly safety standards.
- Ensuring that all component parts of any piece of equipment is prepped and finished to exceptional standards.
- Proactively communicate with customers
- Ensure that all supplied equipment is maintained and kept in good order.
- Represent the company to the highest standards.

**Teamwork and Staffing.**
- Responsible for working as a team in delivering their goals.
- Contribute towards setting and delivering team goals.
- Build relationships within the team to ensure all staff feel valued, engaged, and motivated in their work.
- Responsible for ensuring time keeping standards are maintained.
- Regularly communicate with operational staff within your team be part of regular team meetings
- Ensure you and your team understands about working within all safety parameters, quality, and production measurements.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring the team members, in particular new starters.

**Health & Safety**
- Responsible for safety awareness in all jobs to help eliminate injuries with the department.
- Constantly check for safety hazards and ensure problems are rectified promptly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area this is to include works vehicles.
- Follow all safety requirements.
- Actively participate in safety improvement activities
- Report on any unsafe practices by co-workers.
- Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
- Experience with a variety of welding methods, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Knowledge of metalworking processes, such as cutting, bending, grinding, finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong safety awareness.

**General Responsibilities**

Hours of work 0700 - 1530 Monday - Friday

Overtime as required paid at 1.5 time upto 12 hours then after 12 hours 1.7 times

pay from £17.00 - £18.20

Pay: £17.00-£18.20 per hour
