Position Title: Versatile Maintenance Technician

CBRE Local UK is a prominent provider of comprehensive facilities management and corporate real estate solutions.

We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Technician to become a vital member of our maintenance team. The role will involve performing both Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance across various systems and services.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with on-site equipment, including maintaining up-to-date schematics and identifying essential spare parts.
  • Enhance machinery performance and contribute to the development and execution of a preventative maintenance strategy.
  • Utilize advanced technologies to sustain an efficient operational environment while collaborating with clients regarding specific machinery maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on diverse machinery types.
  • Support departmental colleagues in adhering to Health and Safety protocols.
  • Provide specialized Electrical and Mechanical knowledge to the Maintenance Division, focusing on Heavy Industrial Equipment and Overhead Cranes.
  • Draft and adhere to Risk Assessments, addressing any arising issues with precision and safety.
  • Complete necessary documentation in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work with Three Phase Systems operating at voltages up to 440V.
  • Engage with Motors, Gearboxes, and Valves, including Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical Systems.
  • Utilize mobile technology to efficiently manage and document maintenance tasks through the CAFM system.
  • Organize daily work schedules using digital tools to ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled effectively.
  • Collaborate with on-site services to address any building-related concerns, providing accurate and confident responses as needed.
  • Act as the designated lead for the department when necessary, stepping in for the Shift Leader during absences.
  • Be available for overtime as required by business needs, which may include evenings and weekends with limited notice.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Completion of a recognized or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical qualifications equivalent to City and Guilds 236 Pt 1-2 and 17th Edition.
  • Mechanical qualifications meeting City and Guilds standards.
  • Strong multi-skilled capabilities.
  • Experience with 3 phase motors, drives, and inverters.
  • Familiarity with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
  • Proficient in fault diagnosis.
  • Competence in PLC diagnostics and repairs.
  • NVQ qualifications at Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
  • Able to oversee contractor activities.
  • Capable of drafting Risk and Method Statements.
  • Understanding of permit writing and compliance.
