Paediatric Pharmacist

The Pharmacy department at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a one-year secondment within Paediatrics as part of the Foundation to Advance Clinical Pharmacist Programme.
This is an 18-month competency-based progression programme with incremental enhancement at 12 and 18 months. Pharmacists in the programme will work towards key objectives to transition from a post-registration foundation pharmacist (band 6) into an advanced clinical pharmacist (band 7).
Main Responsibilities- Deliver expert patient care and support lead pharmacists in the development, evaluation, and coordination of clinical pharmacy services.
- Contribute to all aspects of clinical governance, including clinical risk and audit.
- Provide practice supervision of undergraduates, pre-registration pharmacists, and line management and educational supervision of band 6 pharmacists as appropriate.
- Encourage inter-professional learning and participate in educational initiatives such as joint teaching activities with Foundation Doctors.
This role will be based at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital, which is a tertiary paediatric gastroenterology centre, a cystic fibrosis primary centre, a specialised respiratory centre, and able to deliver paediatric oncology services.
The successful candidate will join the Women and Children's team and will be responsible for direct clinical responsibilities within the pharmacy team, taking into account the demands of the service and interest and expertise of the member of staff.
