Private Equity Fund Controller

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Fund Controller to join our team at Goodman Masson. As a Fund Controller, you will play a crucial part in the company's commitment to continuous process improvement.
Main Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain the appropriate financial and operational controls, collaborating with fellow Fund Control Professionals, external Fund Administrators, other service providers, and liaising with the deal and investor relations teams as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Information:
- Conduct the Quarterly Fair Value process in accordance with IPEV Valuation Guidelines.
- Compile Quarterly NAV and capital account reports.
- Assist with the preparation of audited and interim financial reports.
- Fair Valuation:
- Review fair value models prepared by deal teams.
- Ensure adherence to IPEV guidelines.
- Compile the fair valuation pack for presentation to the Valuation Committee.
- Fund Flows and Investor Communication:
- Prepare Investor Call Notices for new investments.
- Issue Investor Distribution Notices.
- Manage fund borrowing facilities.
- Oversee fund flows during the completion and exit of investments.
- Monitor the implementation of the FX hedging policy.
- Oversight of External Fund Administration:
- Manage and supervise external Fund Administrators' fund accounting, administration, CoSec, and Investor Relations teams.
- Integrate a best-in-class operating model.
- Develop review and oversight processes utilising our comprehensive data platform.
- General:
- Coordinate with external tax advisors throughout the lifespan of the Fund to ensure efficient structuring of investments and consideration of investor impacts.
- Facilitate deals across various offices, coordinating internal and external parties to ensure optimal investment structuring in line with Fund documents. Collaborate with the Deal Team, Lawyers, and advisors to ensure adherence to investment and exit processes and optimized structuring for all stakeholders.
Requirements:
Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Proficiency in private equity fund structures, IPEV valuation guidelines, and experience dealing with external fund administrators. Fund Accounting and/or Audit experience with relevant sector experience preferred. Comfortable working in a control environment that emphasizes independent verification and process development. Excellent communication skills. Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office. Analytical, organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and result-driven. Proactive and capable of working accurately under tight deadlines. Skilled in building and maintaining relationships.
