Financial Expert for Travel Company

Harper May is collaborating with a leading travel company that is seeking a talented Management Accountant to join their expert team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial documents
  • Measure the company's financial performance based on financial records
  • Identify problem areas and present recommendations to company management
  • Communicate and interpret financial data to non-financial managers
  • Maintain bank accounts, except for flight and forex transactions
  • Code main bank transactions and post cash books related to the bank, PDQs, and allocate guest payments
  • Process till incomes and manage cash banked weekly
  • Enter utility accruals
  • Post revenue
  • Procure Wizard uploads - weekly
  • Maintain domestic and non-domestic rates
  • Maintain licenses
  • Oversee staff properties costs and liaise with HR at Payroll year-end
  • Manage the Accounts Receivable inbox
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaise with point-of-sale, accounting software, and other system vendors, bank, and consultants
  • Ensure the integrity of accounts in Access Financials and create new authorized accounts
  • Run statistical reports and analysis when required
  • Assist in month and year-end audits and financial reporting processes and posting monthly journals
  • Review relevant codes to ensure postings are correct and amend if necessary
  • Analyze sales against expenses and investigate anomalies
  • Process Capex requests
  • Ensure all SOPs are followed to maintain appropriate controls and mitigate risk
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Management Accountant, preferably in the travel industry
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • Previous experience in discounted cash flows, business production processes, financial data processing, and bookkeeping is helpful
