About the Role

Body & Soul Charity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Casework and Advocacy Services. As the Head of Casework and Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support our members in need of practical assistance and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the Casework and Advocacy Service, ensuring it meets the needs of our members.
  • Oversee referrals into the service, ensuring timely and effective support.
  • Supervise a team of volunteers, providing guidance and support to deliver high-quality casework and advocacy.
  • Conduct initial assessments and casework assessments to understand member needs and develop action plans.
  • Supervise and follow up on volunteer casework, ensuring effective support and advocacy.
  • Hold a caseload of high-needs members, providing ongoing support and advocacy.
Requirements
  • Education to Degree or Postgraduate level.
  • Experience working with people with mental health needs or those who have experienced trauma.
  • Good working knowledge of legal and welfare rights and entitlements, including immigration, housing, and homelessness.
  • Knowledge of services providing support to our community members.
  • Ability to develop service strategies adapted to emerging needs.
Skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including report writing and verbal presentations.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse community from various nationalities, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage own time and workload, and flexibly respond to competing demands.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high-quality work.
