About the Role

Climate17 is partnering with the Greater South East Net Zero Hub to deliver a high-profile government-backed project group designed to accelerate the UK's transition to Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Lead with strategic direction
  • Provide subject-matter related support and guidance to the Finance Support Service and programme delivery team
  • Engage directly with Local Net Zero Accelerator pilots and providers of advisory services to problem-solve and derive insights on place-based net zero investment strategies
  • Convene and join Challenge Working Groups with representatives from the Pilots as needed
  • Derive insights from knowledge collected and synthesised by the Finance Support Service team
  • Provide links to investors / financial institutions
  • Advise on setting up and running investment funds

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years' work experience at a high-profile investment bank or securities firm(s) operating at a minimum of Vice President or equivalent level
  • Direct work experience of the provision of financial advisory services to include direct experience of equity and bond markets either as a trader, sales or structuring and direct experience of fund origination / fund structuring
  • Evidence of provision of financial advisory services in the net zero space
  • Evidence of working with public sector clients in either the net zero space or financial advisory or both
  • Possession of recognised investment qualifications, e.g. CFA Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Certified Securities Trader (CST)
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of place-based decarbonisation and an understanding of the interactions between the different elements of designing and delivering place-based decarbonisation
  • Possess or as a minimum display a route-map to a developed framework for place-based decarbonisation delivery from the outset
  • Evidence of clarity on the identified challenges and interactions for place-based decarbonisation from the outset
  • Ability to cite prior work
