Lecturer in Hairdressing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our team at Gi Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students at all levels, from level 1 to 3 barbering/hairdressing. The role will involve delivering evening courses, weekend work, and competition work, as well as contributing to the development of the curriculum.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and assess teaching and learning to ensure excellent outcomes for students.
  2. Develop and deliver vocational work and employability skills through the curriculum, using external and internal links.
  3. Provide pre and on-course guidance to support learners through to successful outcomes.
  4. Take overall responsibility for the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups, including arranging support requirements and communicating with the Curriculum Team Leader/Curriculum Leader and Progress Tutor.
Requirements:
  • Minimum level 3 in hairdressing and/or barbering.
  • Ability to deliver to students at all levels and abilities, using flexible and innovative methods of delivery.
  • Internal Quality Assurance qualification (although support will be provided if not held).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people receiving education and training.
