Job Title: Special Needs Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Special Needs Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals in the Thornton Cleveleys area. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of children with diverse needs, including physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of children with special educational needs in primary education
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Liaise with other professionals, including teachers, TAs, and specialist support staff
  • Work closely with other LSAs and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system
  • Monitor and track the development of pupils with special needs and provide personalized support to enhance their learning experience

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people with special needs
  • Ability to engage with and build rapport with children with diverse needs
  • Comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviors
  • Proactive and flexible in supporting style
  • Experience with SEN or knowledge of learning difficulties
  • TA qualified
