Cambian Dilston College

Cambian Dilston College is a specialist education provider that offers a unique learning environment for young people and adults with additional learning needs and associated complex behaviours. Our 9-acre rural campus in Dilston, Northumberland, provides a supportive and stimulating environment for our students to thrive.

We are seeking committed and empathetic individuals to join our team as Education Specialists. As a key member of our dedicated teams, you will play a vital role in helping our students learn and develop skills for life. You will work closely with our students, supporting them to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement high-quality curriculum plans, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Act as a personal tutor to small groups of students, supporting them to achieve EHCP outcomes related to independent living skills, personal resilience, and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to expand the horizons and improve the skills of our students.
  • Deliver education with therapeutic approaches, incorporating opportunities for staff and students to experience the fun side of life.
  • Maintain a high standard of classroom environments and display, providing a stimulating and challenging environment for our students.
  • Recognise, value, and raise the achievement of students by ambitious goal setting and approaches.
  • Implement and develop individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively, ensuring that specific targets and approaches prescribed are used.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievement, attendance, and any other information that may inform termly progress reports or Multi-Disciplinary meetings.

Requirements

  • Post-Graduate Certificate in Education
  • Degree in a relevant subject (transferable to the college curriculum)
  • At least 1 year's experience as a qualified teacher
  • Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
