Position Overview

Are you dedicated to making a difference in people's lives? Join our organization as a Housing Support Specialist, where you will assist individuals in navigating their housing challenges.

In this role, you will manage a caseload of adult males in either a correctional or community setting. Collaborating with probation officers, you will conduct initial evaluations to assess their unique needs and develop customized housing strategies through a series of agreed-upon interventions. This includes ensuring participants are informed about decisions impacting them and understanding their rights throughout the process.

Your strong interpersonal abilities will be essential in fostering and sustaining productive professional relationships with both participants and external partners. We seek a positive role model who can inspire constructive changes in attitudes and behaviors.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of housing regulations or experience within the criminal justice system. However, we recognize that not every applicant will meet all criteria. If you are engaging and comfortable working with a diverse population, we offer comprehensive on-site training and support to enhance your skills and knowledge.

In appreciation of your commitment and expertise, we provide a competitive salary of £24,650 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience) along with a range of attractive benefits:

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee a caseload of participants, creating personalized housing plans
  • Conduct initial assessments, taking into account risk factors, circumstances, and needs
  • Document progress and outcomes accurately and promptly using the case management system
  • Maintain regular contact with participants, identifying any emerging risks and concerns
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience or knowledge of housing regulations - desirable
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Familiarity with the workings of the Criminal Justice System
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
