Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our systems engineering organization, you will be responsible for developing innovative electrical design solutions for electrical equipment and switchboards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed equipment layouts, circuit diagrams, and definition of materials for electrical equipment and switchboards.
  • Provide technical guidance to the mechanical design team on electrical design requirements for equipment.
  • Support the procurement of electrical parts and assemblies and resolve quality issues with vendors.
  • Participate in factory acceptance testing on electrical equipment and support the quality function in resolving customer issues.
  • Implement 'Design for Manufacture and Assembly' techniques in the design process.
  • Participate in technical reviews of designs and ensure all designs incorporate best engineering practice.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Good technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, electrical circuit design, and testing procedures.
  • Experience in the use of E-Plan or similar design software for electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD for 2D drawings.
  • Good engineering, communication, and organizational skills.
  • British citizenship with a valid British Passport and unrestricted right to travel.
  • SC level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in packaging power electronics and/or switchboard equipment.
  • Experience in the use of Siemens TeamCenter PLM software for BoM creation and management.
  • Experience working with a decentralized engineering team across international manufacturing sites.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
