About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse to join our team at HMP Cookham Wood, working as part of the Kent Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS Trust in 2022. As a Senior Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care to patients within the prison setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients within the prison setting, including acute and primary care, long-term conditions management, and health promotion activities.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the National Standards for Health Care in Prisons for the service.
  • Ensure all clinics and consultations are delivered in a clinically effective and timely way, in line with service needs.
  • Maintain systems for the collection of triage and allocation of referrals as appropriate and monitoring and supporting the auditing of quality and effectiveness of service delivery.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse RGN/RMN with a postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience at Band 5, with a working knowledge of current issues and agendas facing prison and offender healthcare.
  • Experience of setting, monitoring, and evaluating standards of care.
