Job Purpose Summary
We are seeking a skilled Credit Control Specialist to manage our company's credit control process effectively and efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring timely payment of debts and maintaining healthy financial relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure prompt and accurate collection of outstanding invoices, meeting established cash flow targets and debtor day objectives.
- Proactively chase overdue invoices through clear and professional communication with clients.
- Maintain meticulous records of all chasing activity, providing detailed documentation for internal reporting and analysis.
- Collaborate with senior personnel to manage complex debt situations, negotiating payment plans and resolving outstanding issues.
- Handle disputed invoices effectively, conducting thorough investigations and supporting negotiations to reach mutually agreeable solutions.
- Provide accurate and timely advice on credit-related queries, demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
- Identify potential client financial risks and propose proactive solutions to mitigate potential challenges.
- Utilize client portals efficiently to manage invoices, payments, and communication with clients.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manage credit note requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as required, providing valuable insights into credit control performance and trends.
Qualifications
Essential Work Skills:
- Proven experience in a professional environment, preferably within a finance or credit control role.
- Comprehensive understanding of credit control principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, demonstrating strong analytical and data management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a high volume of invoices and client accounts.

- High level of numeracy and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
