As a Senior Java Developer at JP Morgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth Management, Data and Analytics Pricing Team, you will play a pivotal role as a key member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering innovative technology solutions that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your responsibilities will encompass executing critical technology solutions across various technical domains to support the firm’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting while employing innovative approaches to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Create architecture and design documentation for intricate applications, ensuring that design constraints are adhered to during software development.
  • Collect, analyze, and visualize large and diverse data sets to enhance the continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Identify underlying issues and patterns in data proactively, utilizing these insights to enhance coding standards and system architecture.
  • Engage in software engineering communities and events to explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Guide team members and formulate strategic solutions and practices that enrich the team environment.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Formal education or certification in software engineering principles along with substantial practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within a large corporate setting using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a specific technical domain (e.g., cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile technologies).
  • Backend Technologies - Java / Spring, Kafka, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS and Terraform.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience in the architecture and design of microservices.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry innovations to automate and streamline processes.
  • Experience with Unit Testing, Mocking, and Performance Testing (e.g., Junit, Mockito, Blazemeter).
  • Familiarity with Monitoring Tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana).
