The OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Mate to join our team, working onboard our dredger in Portsmouth Wharf.
As second-in-command, you'll be part of a dynamic and professional team, working a 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off rotation.
You'll support the master of the vessel in all aspects of day-to-day operation, ensuring the vessel is operated safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Support the master in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
- Organise and manage the deck department, ensuring all operational, safety, and maintenance tasks are completed.
- Act as Safety Officer, checking and maintaining safety equipment and conducting safety drills and training sessions.
- Perform navigational duties and undertake dredging operations as required by the master.
You'll need:
- A UK Certificate of Competency (CoC) or a UK CEC (minimum Chief Mate Unlimited)
- ENG1 or equivalent Seafarer medical fitness certificate
- All valid STCW certification
- Will to take further certificates, such as Pilot Exemptions Certificate (PEC)
