Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs in a vibrant primary school in Hastings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Student Learning: Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide Individual Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with specific learning needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Prepare Learning Materials: Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources to support student learning.
  • Monitor Progress: Monitor and record students' progress, reporting observations to the teacher to inform future support strategies.
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere in the classroom and school community, promoting social interactions and personal development.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Experience: Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other school staff.
  • Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to Child Welfare: A commitment to the welfare and development of children, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
