Apprentice Plumber

Meridian Business Support is seeking a skilled Plumber/Pipefitter to join one of their well-established clients based in the North-East of England.
This is a salaried, permanent opportunity to start immediately.

The position requires candidates to work away from home 70% of the time, with travel, lodging, and subsistence paid for.
The work will be on Commercial and Industrial contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation of mechanical and public health pipework materials
- Installation of heating, chilled water, domestic hot and cold water, natural gas, above ground drainage pipework and valves
- Pressure testing of all pipework systems
- Installation of mechanical plant items
- Installation of sanitaryware appliances
- General coordination and liaison with other trades and sub-contractors
- Maintain a good relationship with other site workers, contractors, and suppliers
- Work with the project manager and project team to meet programme and key deadlines
- Assist the project manager in material take-offs / call-offs where required
- Assist junior staff and apprentices where required
- Carry out point of work Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work you will be undertaking or managing on site
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in a mechanical related discipline
- Blue JIB-PMES CSCS card
- High standard of installation and understanding of the industry safety environment, pressures, etc.
- Familiarity with asbestos awareness and procedures
- Ability to work away from home
- Flexible and calm under pressure
