Job Description

Meridian Business Support is seeking a skilled Plumber/Pipefitter to join one of their esteemed clients in the North-East of England.

This is a salaried, permanent opportunity to start immediately, offering a competitive salary of £43,095 - £58,305 (OTE) and a comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will work on commercial and industrial contracts, installing mechanical and public health pipework materials, and will be required to work away from home 70% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of mechanical and public health pipework materials, including steel, copper, plastic, and other materials, to suit project design documentation.
  • Installation of heating, chilled water, domestic hot and cold water, natural gas, above ground drainage pipework and valves, using a range of joining/installation methods.
  • Pressure testing of all pipework systems.
  • Installation of mechanical plant items.
  • Installation of sanitaryware appliances, including WCs, WHBs, sinks, showers/trays, and electric heaters.
  • General coordination and liaison with other trades and sub-contractors.
  • Maintenance of a good relationship with other site workers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Work with the project manager and project team to meet programme and key deadlines.
  • Assist the project manager in material take-offs/call-offs where required.
  • Assist junior staff and apprentices where required.
  • Carry out point of work Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work undertaken or managed on site.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in a mechanical related discipline.
  • Blue JIB-PMES CSCS card.
  • High standard of installation and understanding of the industry safety environment, pressures, etc.
  • Familiarity with asbestos awareness and procedures.
  • Ability to understand design schemes and technical documentation for plant.
