Senior Research Scientist

We are seeking talented individuals to contribute to our Biosciences faculty at the University of Southampton. As part of our strategic growth plan, we are recruiting seven new faculty members to join our dynamic and collaborative research environment.
Our research themes span molecular and precision bioscience, cell and developmental biology, neuroscience, microbiology, plants and food security, and ecology and evolution. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in microbial biofilms, plant biochemistry, physiology, or developmental biology, as well as computational biology and neuroscience.
As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to shape the life science agenda at the University of Southampton, a top 100 university in the QS World Rankings. You will join a friendly and supportive research environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a growing community of interdisciplinary researchers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct innovative research in your area of expertise
- Teach and mentor students at undergraduate and graduate levels
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and grants
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university and industry partners
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
