We are seeking a highly skilled Data Compliance Advisor to join our team at Locke and McCloud. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of data subject requests under UK data protection laws, including access and erasure requests, and information requests from external bodies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Data Subject Request Management: Take primary responsibility for the end-to-end management of data subject requests, ensuring compliance with UK data protection laws and meeting legal deadlines.
  • Documentation and Communication: Develop and enhance existing internal documentation and communications around the data subject request process, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
  • Tool Development and Integration: Work closely with the team on the development and integration of tools involved in the data subject request process, including the OneTrust Privacy Rights Automation module and other internal platforms.
  • Assessment and Improvement: Help optimize assessment processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of related documentation.
  • Organizational Support: Support the application of organization-wide processes such as Data Protection by Design and Default, collaborating with business teams and the IT department as necessary.
  • Training and Awareness: Contribute to the design and delivery of data protection and security training, awareness initiatives, and eLearning programmes.
  • Communication and Advice: Provide well-considered and clear advice on data protection and security-related queries, both internally and externally.
Requirements
  • UK Data Protection Legislation: Strong understanding and practical experience of current and forthcoming UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR.
  • Data Protection Qualifications: Possession of one or more recognized data protection qualifications, such as UK GDPR Practitioner, CIPP/E, or CIPM.
  • Experience and Skills: Substantial experience in handling data subject requests under the UK GDPR, exceptional organizational and planning skills, and proficient general IT skills.
